^ Said no one ever ;)
Marie Jo update: She got a puppy and she is teaching the lessons on her island to a 15 year old girl. I think going through the temple with her before she left helped her a lot too. I love that woman so much.
Me-Now Update: He has committed for the 5th of August. He came to church and a baptism and he is thinking about moving his baptism up, before he leaves the 15th of July. We will see!
Throwback to last week with Soone. We haven't talked with Soone in 2 months, but last week we get a text from her that says "hey can we do a lesson, I have a date tonight at the temple and I just want to be better informed", haha yes God works in mysterious ways like through cute RM boys who take our amis on dates to the TEMPLE, hahaha. So we went over and she had decided to open her heart a ton to God, really searching what was true with a sincere heart. And you know what happened, we shared with her the truth. And she was so ready to hear it. A 180° turn from the last time. And it is all because of her desire to really know and do. When God sees that willingness, he makes a way for that person to hear his word and receive the blessings. We left the lesson by engaging her to pray about baptism, and at her date that night, at the temple, she would get an answer. We cried together and she agreed. The next morning we get a text that she totally received an answer and knows she should be baptized.
Marama is a 9 year old
that we have been teaching. He got baptized Saturday, becoming one of
the newest members of the church. Me and Mommy Durrant are so proud of
him! Bishop then, right before he starts to baptism meeting, tells me I
am in charge of the talk. Rumor had it that the new mission president
was also coming for the baptism. But, time came and he didn't show up,
haha so I didn't have to stress too much.
Gina finally
got her husband accept the lessons, and with some power member
missionary work we got in there!! That also meant that her husband let
her go to church, wohoo!! She agreed to fast with us as well, but when
she got outside to go to church all her shoes had been stolen and the
bus was already there waiting. Our champion ward member ran up just
then, gave her his shoes and said he would drive her to church, which is
awesome because cars are rare here. She ended up coming to church. Go
Gina!
