RAAU Tahiti < The Gospel

Dear Family and Friends,

Sorry, no computers last week.  The last two weeks have been great. We had that wonderful baptism of the Swiss family -  Ballesteros. They invited investigators to come, who now felt the spirit and want to be baptized.  We have wonderful ward members who go to all lengths to help the missionaries and missionary work.  Our Ward Missionary Leader has helped us to organize lots of good things in the missionary work.  I am excited to see how everything plays out and how many more people we can find here.

The sisters in our group know how whip together some pretty good breakfasts every morning.  I got our two Tahitian sisters to like Mexican Food, Success!

We have one investigator that is really kind, and inquisitive.  But during the Restoration lesson, while teaching about the Priesthood he said "yes, people have done miracles with that power, but more people have succeeded with Local Tahitian Medicines.  Soeurs ma, I believe in Tahitian Herbs." ... That's good brother, but Tahitian Herbs can't save souls.

We have heard some pretty exciting sacrament meeting music, some ukeleles and synthesizers, and drums.  I encourage all y'all in your churches to keep it holy :)

All of our 7 newly baptized members have gone to the temple and received the priesthood (ok no, not the women.) Seeing them bless the sacrament and be baptized for their ancestors and fulfill their callings brings a feeling of deep satisfaction and joy.  

We are safe and happy.  We drive and march around our little sector all day long and it's wonderful.  And we are surely blessed out here in the islands, as our French and Tahitian improve, as we leave the shell of selfishness and think about others, and as we pray and fast and cry and laugh together in this little land.  I feel at home most days - with my Father in Heaven always watching out for me.  And I appreciate all the support from the family and my friends!

 Sr TOOFA  my companion, is a GEM.  We love our investigators and this work.  She helps me get up in the morning run, we make really good breakfast burritos and we are unified.  It's a great blessing.
